Hi, only found this site a couple of weeks ago when researching Tarceva for my Mam. She was diagnosed with NSCLC (adenocarcinoma) in May last year. Had Gem/Carbo chemo, Radical Radiotherapy and now, after we've found the tumour has progressed, has been given Tarceva. The rash is really bad though and has kept her in the house for the last few weeks. She's been taken off the strongest dose and been told to start a reduced dose of 100mg as soon as the rash has cleared up - but it's still raging (three weeks on!). Any advice/experiences? Cheers, Lee.

Hi Lee
welcome to the site. I have now been on Tarceva for 15 months the rash is rather difficult to control at first . It does effects most people in different ways. i have found that taking docecycline ( antibiotic) from your doctor and use moisturiser reguarly . the rash will eventually fade when the body becomes used to the drug even then but it does tend to flare up occasionally but not severe. How is your mam doing on the Tarceva? apart from the rash

Dunno bout this sort of thing but feel I need some help and information as missus aint doing so well and I think I need to compare notes wi somebody who is in the same situation. Angie has had a partial lobectomy, chemo,(long day regime, cistoplatin and wilvoberine) recurrence two years later, docetaxyl starting jan this year, now no so good, in hosp wi swollen stomach, etc whilst they sort drugs. Is docetaxyl the way we should be heading?
