Oh my goodness Elsa, Geoff sounds like he is having a real tough time at the moment. Has the Oncologist any ideas who would be the best person to help treat the infection ? I hope things get resolved very soon and that he is able to start chemo very soon Best wishes to you both Dawn x

Hi Elsa
When Dave had sweats the only thing that helped was steroids, Dexamethasone. I don't know what to say about infection but if you could control one sympton then it may help him feel better?

Hi Elsa, repeating Dawn, what does the Oncologist advise? Or failing that, back to your GP for advice? Getting a second opinion might be a good idea? Hope so much that the situation improves for you both, you must be worried sick. Daisey x

Thanks for your kind words Geoff is now MRSA positive he has been given another cocktail of iv anti biotics his breathing is much improved but the infection is still there everyone thinks it is reducing and Geoff is feeling much better in himself. The medics are still stating that is would be ludicrous to start chemo until infection has cleared up?? how longs a piece of string?? i feel ok most of the time and positive around Geoff but then in my quieter moments i feel useless, frustrated and flat.......

Hi elsa
It must be very frustrating for you both, but to be honest it will be better for the infection to be cleared before they start the chemo as it could have an adverse effect and make things worse. glad that geoff is feeling better in himself that isa good sign. As for you stay positive it is hard as you have to watch watch is happening and at times you cannot do anytthing to help, this used to be the same for deanne when i had my bad momnents but believe me just you being there by his side is the best tonic he could have!!

still battling away here Geoff really in loads of pain or the patch knocks him for six i just get lost looking at him and feel he's further away every day. The Mac nurse has asked him to go into the hospice so they can monitor the pain, sweats, sickness etc i know its probably the right thing to do but i feel i'm becoming really irrational and his pain appears to be moving around all his upper body i'm so scared he won't get his treatment because he is to week. I don't want to share him least with a hospice no matter how nice it is!! He has pain all over his upper body it just keeps shifting around i hope someone somewhere is listening to my prayers i love him so much...........

Dear elsa, I am so sorry that Geoff is suffering so much this must be just tearing you apart, I cannot even begin to imagine how you are feeling and how scared and alone you must feel. This has been dragging on for so long and you seem to be no further forward. It must be so frustrating and you must feel so helpless, he heart goes out to you both. I wish their was something I could say to make you feel better. Sending you both (((((hugs)))))
