Geoff (hubby) was diagnosed with NSCLC 27th May as he had thoroscopy to diagnose he then left the hospital with a chest drain for 3 weeks he has had it removed now but still has an infection that is delaying chemo should have started 3 weeks ago. He has been in alot of pain initially where the drain was, once it was removed the pain stayed in exact same place but on the opposite side this lasted a few days and now its central in his chest. No one can seem to say what this pain is could be muscle, nerve etc but no-one is mentioning the cancer as I'm in the mind that this could be causing the pain?? He has tramadol which eases with paracetamol but any opiates he's tried just knock him out and give him nightmares so he can't win at the mo. Wish we could get to the bottom of the pain and get rid of the infection we seem to be just waiting and waiting

Hi Elsa, I am sorry that Geoff is suffering with pain, it's so awful when the person you love is in pain and you can do nothing to ease it. Jimmy got an infection which delayed his chemo when he was 1st diagnosed. Seems everyone who attends hospital these days gets an infection. Nothings ever straight forward is it! Hope the infection soon clears and he is able to begin treatment soon.
Take care Deanne xxx
