Hi I'm glad i found this forum ive been feeling really lost for the last few weeks husband diagnosed with NSSC adenocarcinoma spellings may be wrong he was diagnosed on the 27th March following biopsies from the plural cavity, we had to push the consultant to do something else other than give anti-biotics for pnumonia which he has suffered with since Sept 07. We are due to have scan on Tues then see oncologist Thurs we are most certainly pooping ourselves we want to know but scared to hear. Geoff has really bad back ache, severe sweats and very drained and tired other than that no other symptoms. Hope I can fit in somewhere the forum appears to be very good from what I've read so far. Good luck everyone xx

Dear Elsa, I am so sorry that you have found yourself here but glad that you found us, I know how frightening this all is and how isolated you can feel. When my husband was first diagnosed my world fell apart I felt so angry, frightened and full of questions, some of which I was afraid to know the answers to. The web is great but can also be very scary when reading about this disease and statistics. If I can offer you some advice, don't believe all that you read and question and challenge all the way. Jimmy was diagnosed 2 years ago with stage 4 disease and they put him in his box! He is doing very well, living a normal life doing the things that he has always done. If their is anything you want to ask please ask we will do our best to answer you. Let me know how it goes on Tuesday, will be thinking of you both.
Deanne x

Hi Elsa, just to say hullo. We've been there too and its a tough time for you both. My husbands very first cancer was 7 years ago and lung cancer 2 years ago. We are off to Turkey in a fortnight! There's so much that can be done now that wasn't possible even 5 years ago. Hang on in there! Best of luck for Thursday. Daisey x

Thanks so much for the positive attitude Geoff has a positive mind and it's good to just hear some good experiences. I'm so very proud of him too he has been through agony the last few weeks and I have been reading lots of literature on the subject and sometimes I feel saturated. The GP has signed me off work for another couple of weeks so I can totally focus on Geoff I'm coming round now and he had his scan today so we will keep our fingers, toes and everything else crossed. Have a great holiday Daisey and Deanne I will challenge as you say this site will help me to be informed Alison aka Elsa xx
