Hello everyone, im sure you all know things can change very quickly with lung cancer and again, i find myself telling you all something so different from one day to the next!! On sunday mart was fine on the morning just very worn out and slept most of day. He had a liitle bit of adjetation but fine after. then today Monday, he woke in pain adjetated again, and short of breath. our Mac millian nurse called and saw things i had not noticed, more bruising, deeper breaths, irregular pulse, and toe nails had become white! all signs that mart is fadeing. i spend 24/7 with him, i sleep on the setty next to his bed yet i did not see today coming. My support team are with out a dout excellent, with in 15 mins my pallative care team arrived the nurses put a pump of medicine direct into martyn stomach witch works over 24 hours to keep him comfortable, they arranged for pain relief morphine patches a stronger dose to be delivered to our house for Mart, he was on 12.5mg now on max 25mg plus extra 12.5 as well! the team came outagain at 12.30 then 3.30 they stayed till 5 leftme tel no.tocall in night and since then have called every couple of hours!! even the staff who went off duty bless them called to say they are thinkng about us. our GP called tothe house she got very upset i ended up giving her a hug and sayin it will ok!! the district nurses told me she cried when she got to evening surgery... im not surprised by everyones reaction with martyn he is such a likeable person he has touched so many people, i honestly dont know an enemy for martyn. In some ways this has been a bit hard, cuz everyone wants to see him, an be with him. I have allowed what martyn has asked for and that is our children, my sister, her husband who is marts close friend, and my mom. We are staying (me my sister, hubby ) allwith mart all night to keep him company tonight God bless you all and thank you Jimmy and deanne this site has been wonderfull i hope you know how it has touched people like us Love toall Sharon xx

Hi Sharon
I started writing that I was thinking of you but then I realised that although it was true I was really distraught for you and your family as you go through this. I am glad you have such a great care team around you and wish with all my heart that you get through this as well as you can.

Sharon Hard to find words to help you, maybe just knowing we are all thinking of you will help. Knowing that you were able to give Martyn what he wanted, will help comfort you as you take it one day at a time. Love and thoughts Ros X

Dear Sharon & Harriet
I am so very very sorry to read about the loss of Martyn. I really wish there were some words I would use right now.
You are both such amazing people and the love between all your family is so very obvious.

Hello again, Firstly thank you all so much for your kind words, and for just posting your support for me.
We had Martyns Funeral on friday. It was breath taking.... there was hundreds, he will have looking down and saying wow... how lovely. It was a very moving day, Martyn had chosen his own music, "Angels" by robbie williams to enter the crem, a song dedicated to me for his commital which was "If tommorow never comes" by ronan keating, and the exit to "Time to say good bye" by Kathrine Jenkins.
Our daughter Harriet read out her poem and our son read a tribute to his dad. There was not a dry eye about.
I feel numb now its all over, i have been busy preparing for the funeral but now its over. I just cant stop the hurt, i want so desperately to be with Mart, im lost without him.
With love sharon x
ps feel selfish...I should have posted a good luck to deanne an Jimmy for results i have seen in the recent posts you have been celerbrating so its good news and im very pleased for you both and your family. Keep up the good work jimmy x

Hi Sharon I agree with Deanne, Martyn's funeral sounded wonderful and your children must have made you very proud . I understand what you mean when you say you feel numb now, when my Nan was ill we cared for her day and night and when she died organising the funeral carried us forward but afterwards there was a void and total emptyness which was overpowering at times. He will be with you always tho --- (((big hugs))) to you all. Love Dawn xx
