Sharon,
You are allowed to cry, so do it. I agree, you can't be strong all the time and admitting this will help you. Do what you can, when you can and don't beat yourself up about feeling emotions.
Soft hugs

Hi Sharon
Crying in the car must be another carer sympton!!! I can remember doing this all the time when Dave was first diagnosed, having surgery, chemo etc... and as Deanne says the only time you are alone, away from them when you can cry!! I suddenly developed a 3 box a week tssue habit!! Sounds as though he is regaining some of the lost usage in limbs and hopefully speech will follow, do look after yourself though!! Stay strong and remember we are all here to "listen" to you. Ros X

Hello and thankyou for all my Hugs.
thought i would update you all today and let you know how things are. Martyn was not happy in hospital and it seemed pointless being there because all treatments have now stopped and he only requires pain relief if needed so we brought him home by ambulance aweek ago. My Mac millian nurse has been fantastic, she arranged for a electric bed, an air machine matress a baby monitor and other things she thought i might need. She arranged for 2 care assistances to come in three times a day, we also have a district nurse who calls in and is on call for us 24hour. So everything is in place to make Martyn as comfortable as possible and he is happy. Some speech has come back but its hard work for him, we have the bed in the living room and im sleeping down stairs with him, my sister and her husband and my mom have moved in and its been a great help, its like having a cook a handyman and a cleaner so i can just concentrate on spending my time with Mart. Our doctor has called out twice this week and will be back out on monday, we have been told Mart has aproximatly 2 weeks but i think they are wrong, since he has been home he looks better

Hello all, no change with martyn, he is pain free and remains happy. Just wanted to share with you all my daughters poem she did for her exam and recieved an A* Harriet is age 15. When reading it out at school 4 of her teachers were in tears!! bless her. love from sharon x
Once Upon A Time In The Land Of The Lovely
Once a happy family, lived strong and proud now they are haunted, with a gloomy grey cloud. Their life suddenly came, to a griding halt it all flashed before them in a lightening bolt. An alien from a planet, has came and attacked infected a member, in a brutal act. in the July 06, a cancer was confirmed A year was granted, for which the member earned. Like a flock of sheep, we all bunched together We knew this was something, that effects forever. We began a journey, to last a year But harder than expected, was conquering fear. It became harder and harder, as the days went by and the routine set in, with the night time cry. The months passed, at a painful speed the flower was blooming, of the planted cancer seed. Reality kicks in and soon you'll be alone It's taken a life, but left a broken home. Words can't express a hole in your heart but a painful buzz would be where to start. He is a father, son, husband and friend And now too soon, it is his end. Something like this really makes you realise that you love them so much it's hard to disguise. A perculiar bubble, burns the back of your throat and the tears stream down like a river beneath it's boat. Your stomach hurts, and your back aches to shift this feeling you'll do whatever it takes. You clench your fists, even tighter and tighter your knuckles and fingers, get whiter and whiter. Every single morning, this is the way i feel anxiety and worry, for he has no chance to heal. It takes anyone to be a father, but someone special to be a dad you are someone special and the best dad I could have had. Saying goodbye, is the hardest thing to do things wont be the same when we haven't got you. Always thinking of you Daddy you mean so much to me Promise to do you proud now Daddy just wait, watch and see. In heaven watch down, on all that we do and every good deed is devoted, to you. In the dark night's sky, a star will shine bright More than the rest, it'll be a twinkling sight. That independant star shining above them all Wll be you to remind me, get back up when I fall. Take care now Mr Bryant, you've done your family proud When you feel your ready, go sit upon that cloud. Please do not go yet though, you've got so much to see You need to walk me down the aisle, to the man I will marry. This time right now, is your last on Earth One day we'll be together, just on a different turf. Came a time in the land of the lovely, things weren't as good as could be The time when you cannot fight no more, and you have had To Go Leave Me.

Hi Sharon and Hariet, I have just read your poem, Harriet, and have tears streamng down my face. Your Dad must be so very proud to have such a wonderful daughter - it takes someone very special and exceptionally mature to put their thoughts onto paper so elequently. And well done for being able to share it with your Dad - you are very brave, and I don't know if I could have managed it as well as you did. Thinking of you all with love and (((hugs))) Dawn xx

Harriet and Sharon,
The poem is so moving. I am crying. You have touched the very essence of what is happening and have expressed your feelings so clearly. I am crying. Your Dad is very proud of you and your Mum is so special.
Soft hugs to both of you and please tell Martyn that Kent and I are thinking of him
