surgery for Jimmy.....Stent anyone else had this?
« Thread Started on May 3, 2009, 10:14pm »

Hi All,
Jimmy goes in on Wednesday to have a stent put into one of his airways? Does anyone have any experience of this? Just looking for feedback?

Thanks
Deanne

My dad was in hospital recently, the man in the next bed as in having treatment for cancer on his back, he had stenting done by a top surgeon in Cardiff, he was up and about the following day, he looked a lot better and he said he felt much better, went home 5 days later. x

 did not go as planned

Hi All,
Jimmy's op did not go as planned :( Jimmy was took down for the op, they did the broncoscopy to find that the airway was open and was too large for the stent to go in. So we now know the airway is open at least :) Jimmy was rather unwell after the anesthetic and has taken him a few days to get back on his feet, but he is up and about again eating well and looking a lot better thank goodness! His breathing has improved too. Seeing the oncologist on Friday to discuss new treatment.

Duane,
Just read your post on the other thread, I cannot imagine. Hope that you and your loved ones found comfort somehow (((hugs)))))

Maria,
How are you doing, called a couple of times but been unable to get you.

Been to and from the hospital regarding my dad. Had is one leg amputated last July, had a furhter operation on his other leg a couple of weeks ago so not been at home much.

Gareth going into hospital next Tuesday for operation on his back, he's a bit worried about that at the moment, he's been quite depsressed about it all.

Hope everything goes ok for Jimmy on Friday, hope you're feeling ok. Take Care xx

Maria,
I am sorry that your poor Dad is still going through so much. It must be very hard for you seeing him suffer like this. How is your Mum coping with it all? I hope all goes well with Gareth's op. Sending you both (((((hugs)))) Let me know how that goes.

Hi Maria,
Jimmy seen the onc on Friday and has to see him again in 2 weeks time to discuss getting him onto further treatment. While he is getting stronger not quite strong enough yet to start treatment. Looking at him today he seems much better and has in fact improved each day. Danny and Linda came to see us, they were asking about you and Gareth, had a busy day today 7 for Sunday lunch :o and then my cousin and her hubby dropped by, they have only just left. Feeling worn out, Jimmy is dozing off in the chair as I type ;)

Take care
